Review: Buxom Amplified Lash Mascara

It's a well known fact that I'm big on mascara and am constantly on the hunt for 'The One'.
You all know what I mean by 'The One' - It's the one that magically turns poker straight lashes in to luscious ones with the flick of your wrist as well as makes them look fuller and longer. It's a lot to ask, I know, but on my quest I've come up against some pretty good contenders.

The newest mascara I've been playing with is Buxom Amplified Lash Mascara which my cousin picked up for me from Chicago and while it doesn't beat the original Buxom Lash Mascara, it does come in a close second.

Designed with one of those twist features, the rubber bristled brush can be extended and contracted depending on what you prefer and the look you are going for. While the packaging states that 'Crank It Up' gives volume and thickness, I've actually found that the 'Twist Down' does this and the cranking give you length and definition. Weird but I guess the truth is in the lashes!

The brush:
The brush itself has rubber bristles and the magic of the twisty motion lies in the top of the lid so you can twist it to extend or contract the brush.

Left - Bristles extended
Right - Bristles contracted

Applied:

The formula for the mascara itself is quite thick and 'wet' - sounds so wrong, I know -  but I actually prefer my mascaras like this instead of dry as they are a lot easier to work with and gives you some time to layer them up. The above photos show my lashes with at least 2 to 3 coats of mascara but that is just my preference because you could still get away with one quick coat and be ready to go.

If you like your mascara to give you thick but not spidery lashes then I would definitely recommend this number because it genuinely does tick all boxes. The only problem you'll have is trying to persuade someone to bring it over from the States for you but if you're going that way then you'll be able to pick this up in Sephora.

What mascara are you loving at the moment? Let's hear it!
