I've waxed lyrical about Barry M Gelly nail polishes before on here because I think they are great. While I can't really appreciate their glossy quality because I always use a top coat, they go on really easily and last at least 3-4 days before there is any major tip wear and chipping which is always a bonus in my book.
From when they first launched - I think about a year ago - there have been some new colours to the Gelly family and all of them have been a little different to the colours in their core line. This summer saw some new shades launch and 'Guava', a blue-turquoise, was one of them that caught my eye because it reminded me of 'In The Cab-Ana' by Essie.
I paired 'Guava' with a Barry M Confetti paint that I picked up and it turned in to a party on my nails!
This 'Sour Apple'.
Made up of blue and yellow bar-shaped confetti, the polish has a clear base so it doesn't alter the shade of the base colour at all. In the case of 'Guava', it just made it look a bit more alive!
I know bar confetti or glitter isn't for everyone but I quite like to mix and match things up a bit so I went the whole hog and did all my nails in confetti. Yes, it did look like I had the nails of a 5 year old but who cares? IT'S PRETTY!
I genuinely can't fault Barry M at the moment when it comes to their nail paints because they seem to be able to piggy back on the all the big trends which more high end brands are doing, therefore bringing it to the masses in a more affordable way.
Barry M, I salute thee!
