The weird weather that we're having in London at the moment has put a damper on my mood but I'll be damned if I let it put a damper on my makeup choices, that is for sure. I know it's easy to go for dark and wintery shades when the weatherman is telling you that summer has been cancelled this year but I'm bringing summer to myself every single day.
Apart from picking crazy nail polish colours (check out my Instagram if you don't know what I'm on about), I'm brightening up my face with cream blushers and a BB cream instead of my usual foundation and powder blush combos that I don't tend to stray from. These three blushers are just some of the ones I've been reaching for so I thought it was prime time to give you all a quick look at the, even though they have been on blogs galore!
I was sent the following shades (L-R):
- Healthy Glow
- Rose Tender
- Sweet Cherry
Swatched:
The colour payoff in each swatch seems to be faily pigmented but that definitely isn't the case once you apply them to your cheeks. I don't know if it's just me and my inability to work with a cream-based product properly but I struggle to build up a strong colour with these, which isn't a bad thing. I'm always worried that I'm going to move my base around when I'm applying a cream product or I'm going to apply too much and then have dodgy Aunt Sally cheeks but because it's so hard to build up a strong colour with these, it actually works in my favour. Does that make sense?
If I was after a stronger pop of colour on my cheeks then I would avoid these blushers because there just isn't a strong enough payoff but seeing as I'm trying to channel the whole 'no makeup-makeup' kind of look, these are pretty handy.
They are priced at £7.99 each and available nationwide or online at Boots.
Are there any shades that are jumping out at you or did you give them a miss?
Amrita xoxo
