Bourjois recently launched their new range of lipsticks called Rouge Edition and they have been causing quite a stir, in a good way, on the internet and in the magazines. It seems that everyone is falling for the charms of the black casing and gorgeous shades and I don't blame them because I gave in bought one myself, which is now one of my staple handbag lippies. A couple of weeks ago I was sent a few more lipsticks from the range and although they're not all shades that I would have picked for myself, they're all very pretty and have the perfect lippie consistency.
I was sent the following shades:
02 - Beige Trench
07 - Fuchsia Graffiti
11 - Fraise Remix
12 - Rose Neon
13 - Rouge Jet Set
18 - Violine Strass
There are 18 shades altogether in the Rouge Edition family which range from bold and brash shades to more neutral nudes as well as vampy berry ones so there is probably going to be a shade in the collection that you will like or atleast be lusting after.
I didn't do any lip swatches because my lips are dry and sore at the moment so they wouldn't have done the lipsticks any justice but if you do want to see how they look, take a look at the amazing swatches that Milly of Pearls & Poodles has done.
My initial impression of the lipsticks is that they are very good quality considering they are only £7.99 and available on the high street. The half lustre and half vibrant formula is spot on for making sure you can build up the colour by packing it on or give your lips a wash of colour without drawing too much attention to them. Although, with that being said, if you're aiming to give them a light wash then I would recommend you stay away from the neon shades because they pack some serious punch and aren't going to be for any wallflowers!
You can buy the lipsticks now from Boots and Superdrug stores nationwide or have a look a the full range in Selfridges.
So, how many of you are planning on picking a lippie up on your next trip to the High Street?
Until next time...
