Last weekend was the Olympia Beauty show at Kensington Olympia (duh!) so I popped down there on Monday afternoon to have a look around as I'd never been to one of these shows before and see what all of the fudd was about. I knew it was a trade show so it was going to be full of beauty therapists and students stocking up for their salons and classes but in between all of the madness were a couple of good brands that had some great bargains, so I did what any normal beauty blogger would do and picked up a few sneaky bits and pieces.
The first place I headed was the O.P.I stand and had to seriously control myself because they had pretty much all of their nail lacquers on show and all for £5 each, which is a pretty good deal seeing as Sally's sells them for £10 or so. With so much choice, I wasn't quite sure which shades to go for because there were loads to choose from so in the end I settled for an old favourite (Lincoln Park After Dark) and this beauty...
This is 'Light My Sapphire':
I only managed to take one photo of the polish and, obviously, it is a shoddy photo but below is a close up of it so you get a better idea of what it actually looks like because I know the photo above makes it look more black than blue.
Up close is when you can actually pick up the blue shade that runs through the polish and it's definitely made it in to my top 10 favourite all time colours. I've pushed all my neon shades to the back to my drawers now and moved all the moody, murky polishes to the front because that's all I want to wear so brace yourselves for some more dark NOTD posts. I think this will look really good as a pedicure shade so I'll be giving this a try tomorrow when I do my standard shape and paint.
You can buy O.P.I shades from Lena White online, Sally's stores nationwide or eBay which is usually cheaper anyway.
Until next time...
