Review: Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer

If I was stuck on a desert island and could only have 3 makeup products with me, this Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer kit would definitely be one of them. Bobbi Brown herself says that concealer is the secret of the universe and I wholeheartedly agree because the right concealer can make you look rested and perky so nobody needs to know about what lies beneath.

Since I interned at Bobbi Brown almost 2 years ago, I have been such a big fan of the brand and haven't looked back since. I swear by the Natural Finish Long Lasting Foundation and Skin Foundation as well as the Corrector in Bisque and Treatment Lip Shine SPF15 in Papaya but the Creamy Concealer was a key product for me from the get go. I remember when the Creamy Concealer Kit used to be packaged in a tub with the concealer on top and a loose powder at the bottom and I loved it but since the kit was repackaged in to a concealer and pressed powder, I love it even more.

I use the Creamy Concealer in Natural and the pressed powder that comes with it is in Pale Yellow, which is perfect. The concealer is available in 14 shades so there pretty much is a fit for everyone and the pressed powder is designed to complement each skin tone... If anyone knows about skin tones, it's definitely Bobbi Brown.

This is what it looks like on a full face of makeup:
The Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer really is creamy so a little can go a long way when applying it to the under eye area or on blemishes but the pressed powder helps to set it so there isn't a lot of creasing. My preferred method of applying the concealer is with my fingers so I can press and roll it on but using it with a brush doesn't give any more or less of a better finish in all honesty. I found that I have a lot more control when using my fingers as opposed to a brush when it comes to under my eyes but a brush is definitely more handy when covering blemishes or around the nose... It's all about finding what works for you.
The only gripe I have with the concealer is that it does have a tendency to crease after a while, even after I have applied the pressed powder on top. Concealer settling in to the lines under my eyes isn't really a good look because it can make the delicate area look somewhat aged so I think I'll need to make a trip to a Bobbi Brown counter to see what the trick is to making it look fresh and not like I'm 50.

The Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer Kit is priced at £23.50 and available from the Bobbi Brown website or counters nationwide.

What is your favourite concealer? I'm tempted to try the Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage but don't think I can give up the Creamy Concealer from Bobbi... What are your thoughts?

Until next time...

  2. I have this concealer too and while I think it is good, I agree with you on the creasing and it doesn't quite do a good job on under eye circles
