NOTD: Models Own 'Concrete Mixer'

Hi all.

It's been a while since I posted a NOTD post because I filed my nails down and hate the way they look when they're short but this shade actually looks pretty good on them.
This is CONCRETE MIXER.

I didn't realise that I didn't own a shade like this until it fell through my letterbox. Does that ever happen to any of you?
You think you have every shade you could possibly want to wear until you see one you don't have and decide that you just *need* it? No? OK, well I'm on my own then!

Concrete Mixer is a murky light grey that makes a change from all the nudey shades that I've been wearing lately and I love it. The consistency is spot on and I probably could have gotten away with just one coat but the perfectionist in me wouldn't let me so I went with two coats and a top coat of Seche Vite.
I think Models Own may have changed their formulations because all the new nailpolishes that I've gotten from the brand don't smell like formaldehyde anymore so I wonder if they've been at work in their labs taking out the nasties? Who knows!

I'm very excited for the new Models Own Pro range and their family of crackle polishes which are going to be on sale in the next few weeks (I think) so look out for those.

Models Own nailpolishes and products are available online and at Boots stores nationwide.

What do you think of Concrete Mixer? Yay or nay?

Let me know in the box!

Until next time...

  5. Love it on those neat, short nails (I think they suit your hands like that btw, you have nice balanced hands so any neat nail shape would suit you!).

I would probably use it as a base for black or dirty-gold tips. I am terribly gaudy with my nails (hence I await the multi colour crackles with baited breath- one of my first post lenten purchases).

  6. Thanks for the comments girls. The more I look at this shade, the more I love it.
This may be one of the very few nail polish colours that actually suits my stubby fingers at this length and not when they're longer. I shall have to report back once I've tested it on my talons (once the grow back!)
