Show & Tell: The Tangle Teezer

Hey all.

Have any of you got that one hairbrush that you love? The one you've had for what feels like ages and has never failed to style your hair exactly how you like it. For those of you that answered 'yes', then you'll know how annoyed you would be if you broke said hairbrush.

Well, that is exactly what happened to me while I was brushing my hair and fighting to get a single tangle out. I yanked on the brush so hard that it came away from the handle and left me with two seperate pieces. Needless to say that I was not happy nor impressed but the upside was that I could finally pick up the Tangle Teezer.

For those of you who have never heard of the Tangle Teezer, it is a great hairbrush for any hair type as it helps get those nasty tangles out of your hair without breaking the actual strand. Mandy has used this baby for a while now and has always told me that I should invest in one and I always said I would, but just couldn't bear to part with my beloved barrel brush.

This is what the people behind the brush say:

"Tangle Teezer is the first of a new generation of detangling hairbrushes! Upon picking up Tangle Teezer you will notice the teeth aren’t like that of an ordinary brush which is where the hair genius comes in. The unique configuration of specifically designed teeth flex just the right amount to detangle and help smooth the hair’s cuticle which in turn protects the inner cortex from damage.

Using the Tangle Teezer will ensure your hair will appear more lustrous by minimising cuticle damage which in turn will help colour last and reduce the risk of fading. The hair shaft is also better prepared for the onslaught of damaging heat from styling tools. That’s why we like to call it first aid for hair."

The man behind the Tangle Teezer is Shaun P who is a celebrity hair colourist (I'm not reading off the photo. I promise!)

In the box, you get a hot pink Tangle Teezer or a black one (depending on where you get it from and what colour you choose) and a little instruction leaflet which has some haircare tips and how to keep your Tangle Teezer looking pretty.

So this is a closer look at the actual brush itself. It's all plastic so it's really light and it's easy to clean because there is nowhere for any nasties or hair to get caught.

The bristles are all plastic too which not only makes it easier to remove hair from it but the plastic is soft so it won't break your hair while your brushing.

The brush is also moulded into a rounded shape to make it easy to hold in the palm of your hand because there's no handle.

At £9.99, the Tangle Teezer is definitely not a cheapo hairbrush but do I think it's worth it? Hell yes.
It's a great product to have if you're prone to tangled hair and want something that's going to help smooth out the crazy. Also, if you like to comb through your hair when you've got conditioner in it, then you should definitely pick this up too because you there's no worry that you're going to get hair and conditioner all caught up in the bristles.

You can pick up the Tangle Teezer from Boots stores or online from LookFantastic.

Have any of you tried this badboy before? If not, are you now tempted? Answers in the box!

Until next time...

  4. It really is a great little thing. It doesn't look amazing but once you start using it, you'll notice a difference in your hair. Just don't use it to blow dry your hair or anything! Lol.
Sultry Red: They also do mini Tangle Teezers so you could always get your partner one of those instead of the big ones.
