Hey girls and boys...
Today's post is slightly different to your usual makeup/beauty/fashion/ramble kind of post on The 6 Inch Stilettos but I'm willing to make an exception because it's such a good cause.
I know there is plenty of charity fundraising going on at the minute and some of them require to dig into your wallets, whilst others require you to delve into your makeup bags... So let's add this one to your list and see if we can get people to dive into their pockets!
My big sister, Ina, is doing a sponsored skydive to raise money for Vision Aid Overseas!!!

We're going to throw this thing...

So what is Vision Aid Overseas?
Vision Aid Overseas is an international charity which helps to provide eyecare services from eye tests and prescripted spectacles to those in developing countries. Over 670million of the worlds population is disadvantaged by visual problems but with the help of Vision Aid Overseas, some of those people are able to see the light a lot more clearer.
Why should YOU donate to the cause?
We're lucky to be able to walk into our local Specsavers or opticians and book appointments straight away. We're lucky to have access to glasses, contact lenses and laser eye surgery. We're lucky to be have these things available to us all day, every day. Being a contact lens and glasses wearer, I know that I would literally be blind without them so if I can donate just a couple of quid to this cause, someone somewhere will benefit from it.
Do you wear glasses or contacts? Yes? Well, imagine not being able to get your contacts every month or not being able to afford a pair of glasses that would allow you to see your loved ones or all the pretty things you have. Sounds dramatic and over the top but that's the case with people in under developed countries. The simple things in life like seeing your own children, are lost.
Donating even £1 or £10 can help make such a big difference to one person or 10 people.
It just takes a little digging in our pockets.
Ina is going to be launching herself out of an airplane on Saturday 29th January 2011...
