Last week, I was lucky enough to be invited to attend a special preview at the London College of Fashion of their new makeup line which is a collaboration with The Body Shop. So off I went with LBQ to see what the new range had to offer and some gorgeous outfits courtest of William Tempest and Jena. Theo, who are both LCF graduates.
There was a lot of waiting around going on pre-show but there was champagne and cupcakes to make up for it so I couldn't be mad at the crew for too long. Cupcakes make EVERYTHING better!
After a good half an hour of waiting around and people watching, we were allowed to take our seats in the auditorium for the catwalk show and wait for a little while longer (Grrrr!) before the actual show could start.
Although there was a lot of "oooh"-ing and "ahhh"-ing at the designs by the talented fashion designers, I was more intrigued to see what the make up artists had created with the new range.
There were 4 key looks in the show, all of which are wearable although would probably need some tweaking to tone them down a little! (Click to enlarge)

The splatter of paint is completely optional.
All the models back out on the catwalk for the finale:
Closing the show was Ben Grimes who modelled the debut dress from William Tempest's first ever 2008 London Fashion Week show.
The make-up design was by established British MUA, Nikki Palmer who is also a London College of Fashion graduate.
The 4 looks of the catwalk, were all her creations: From statement brows to statement cheeks, Nikki showed how the new collection was versatile enough to be used day or night and on any skin tone.
After the show and a glass of champagne, LBQ and I were whisked backstage to meet the infamous Nikki Parmer and her team (Very exciting!) and got to watch them recreate the looks fresh off the catwalk on a bunch of pretty people. I love watching MUA's work their magic!
I have to say, after having a quick chat with Nikki and seeing how she used the new products in her creations, I can't wait to get stuck in and ATTEMPT to recreate them. I'll probably get them totally wrong but hey, you can't help a girl for trying!!!
I have the whole new collection to play with so expect another round of photos and swatcheroonies to follow :-)
Until next time...
