Sneak Peek: Inika Cosmetics Event

Hey kids!

I was lucky enough to be invited to the Inika mineral cosmetics launch yesterday at The Covent Garden Hotel so I traipsed over there in the rain and managed to have a look around to see what made Inika so special.

Background:
Inika was created in 2006 when Miranda Bond and Jenni Williams, who both lead toxic-free lifestyles, decided that it was about time there was an all natural toxic-free cosmetic line available to women all over the world. With that in mind, the twosome created Inika.

All the cosmetics in the range are:
- Certified organic with Australia's Organic Food Chain
- Certified Halal with the Australian Federation of Islamic Council
- Certified Vegan with the UK Vegan Society
- 100% animal cruelty free
and
- All the pacakaging that the Inika products come in are made from recycled material and are able to be recycled.

So what makes Inika so special?
Unlike other mineral makeup brands, Inika does not contain bismuth oxychloride (talk about a tongue twister), which is a skin irritant that can trigger off itching and rashes on those with sensitive skin. Also, Inika cosmetics are completely free of chemicals, fillers, talc, GM ingredients, parabens, preservatives and fragrances.

The complete range of Inika Mineral Cosmetics. There is something for everyone from this brand regardless of what you prefer! Powder and liquid foundation, primers, concealers, highlighters, eyeshadows, eyeliners, mascaras, lipsticks, lip whips, setting powders, blushers, bronzers and brushes. Impressive, right?

A closer look at some of the lipsticks, bronzers and blushers. Although the lipstick range is small, the colours are very versatile and there is bound to be something in there to tickle everyones fancy.

Considering the range is completely natural and toxin-free, there is a relatively wide colour range of loose eyeshadows. From brights to pastels and neutrals to dark, the colours are easy to blend and can be used wet or dry.

I'm eyeing up those nudey pink lipsticks!

Swatcheroonies! The flash on my camera definitely took away the vibrance of the shades because on first swatch, the colours are very strong and can be layered on top of the eyeliners.

Overall:
I have to admit that I was very impressed with Inika cosmetics and the complete range of products. Considering that all products are completely natural and organic, there are so many different products that there would be something for everyone to choose from. From what I was able to swatch the products that are going in my shopping basket are:
- Peachy Keen blush
- Liquid Highlighter
- Organic eyeliners
