Review: Eyeko 'Big Eyes' Mascara

Hi all!

It's about that time again... Yup, review time! Woo!
I've got so many products that I want to get through and review for you girls and guys but it's so hard to find the time. Well, I figured that since I was home and off sick from work that I would squeeze some reviews in for you :)

I've been using this mascara for almost 2 months now, possibly longer, and I have to admit that it is slowly becoming my "go-to" product.

I present:

Big Eyes Mascara by Eyeko!!!

I'd heard some positive things about this mascara but my local Superdrug stopped stocking Eyeko products so I never managed to snag it. However, Powder Rooms came to my rescue were polite enough to send me one to have a play around with.

The first thing you'll notice is the packaging. It's in a tube. Literally. It's not in the normal circular cylinder shaped packaging that most mascaras come in. It's squeezy and quirky in a good way :)

The brush:

I was a bit sceptical of the brush when I first saw it. I've never used a swirly wirly (Sorry, I have no idea what the technical name is!) brush before so wasn't sure if it would do the job for my poker straight lashes. I think YSL's Singular mascara has a swirly wirly brush if I'm not wrong but I've not tried it out yet so can't confirm it.

Here's a closer look at the brush and the bristles:

You can seen in the pic that it's not just a standard swirly brush but instead it's made up of loads of teeny tiny bristles that help to make sure each lash is full coated with mascara.

Pow!

This is using a 3 second squeeze from my Shu Uemura eyelash curlers and ONE coat of mascara! Sky high lashes!

Lashes look full and evenly coated

There's always a risk that the swirly brush will clump lashes together and although I had to use a lash comb to seperate my lashes, there was no major clumpage that meant my lashes looks like they were superglued together :)

Flutter flutter:

Lashes look longer and fluttery with this mascara so I definitely can't fault it!

Overall:
The only downside I've found with this mascara is that it goes on 'wet'. Does that make any sense to you?
For example, if you were to coat your lashes and then sneezed... Chances are you'd probably have mascara running down your cheek. Although it dries quickly, the initial 'wetness' (that sounds so wrong) kind of puts me off using it. Clearly, it's not such a major issue because I've still been reaching for this mascara time and time again. One squeeze of the tube and one coat of mascara later, you've got full and fluttery lashes.

Now isn't that what we all want??

You can buy Eyeko Big Eyes Mascara from Powder Rooms and it's priced at £7.95.

What mascara are you loving right now? I've got quite a few to get through right now but I really want to try Rimmel's Lash Accelerator and Revlon's Grow Luscious. Have any of you tried them? I want to know!

Until next time my fruitcakes...
