Urban Decay Naked Palette - Swatcheroonies!

Hi campers!

It's been a bit of a busy week for me hence the lack of blogging but I'm hoping that this post will make up for it.

When I first saw the swatches of Urban Decay's Naked Palette, I have to admit that I was a tad *meh* about it all. Don't get me wrong, I love nudes and neutrals as much as the next girl but there just wasn't anything jumping out at me saying that I HAD to have it. Anyway, there was no exact date when this beaty was going to be hitting our shores and I for one was under the impression that it wasn't going to be out until the end of August or beginning of September.

I picked this up from House of Fraser on the 17th August and was told by the girl on the counter that it had actually been on counter from Thursday 12th August. It's quite strange how it wasn't common knowledge that the palette was out already because most of the beauty people I speak to on Twitter all had different dates in mind. Silly Urban Decay people should have let us know!

Anywho... I present to you...

THE NAKED PALETTE!!!
I have to admit, I'm not a big fan of the velour on the packaging. It makes it feel kind of cheap in my opinion.

Taaa Daaa!
When you open it you're greeted by 12 gorgeous eyeshadows in different finishes, a decent sized mirror and a double ended eyeliner.

The first 6 shadows...
There are 3 matte shadows (Virgin, Naked & Buck) and 3 metallic shadows (Sin, Sidecar & Halfbaked)

The other 6 shadows...
These are all metallic shadows with the last 2 being more shimmery.

The swatcheroonies for you :)
You can see that some of the shadows would probably need to be applied with a heavier hand because a quick swipe of the finger doesn't really show it's true colour or finish.

The two 24/7 liners that come with the palette
I was told that Whiskey was a new shade and what a gorgeous shade it is.

Overall, I think that the palette is quite a handy one to have if you're a big fan of the neutral family and are always after new shades of brown to play around with. There are so many different combos you can do with the palette which is why I'd say it's more of an investment than anything else. Well, that's what I like to tell myself anyway. LOL.

It's priced at £28.00 and available from Urban Decay counters in House of Fraser stores. I'm not sure if it will be available to purchase online but if I find out, I'll let you all know.

So, who's going to be "investing" in a Naked palette?

Until next time...

  5. Such a pretty palette! How naughty - I thought it was an October Debenhams exclusive... quite good though as I've got £10 of House of Fraser vouchers :D

  6. Amrita! The U.S. fails at stocking up on these palettes! I cannot wait till I get my hands on one! I'm on Urban Decay's and Sephora's waitlist. All of this waiting is rather painstaking but I know that it'll be worth the wait!
Your swatches are to die for. I'm ogling like crazy!
