Sneak Peek: Bobbi Brown Masterclass!

Hi all!

I'm guessing from the title of the post you'll know what's coming up but in case you're a tad slow and need a walk through, let me explain...

As you all know, I've been interning in the Bobbi Brown press office here in London and I was lucky enough to see the woman behind the brand in action. Bobbi made a very surprised and unplanned pitstop in London to meet with her team here and surprise the Studio Managers with a masterclass using some of her cult products and newbies from the Denim & Rose collection and the Black Velvet collection.

I would never have thought I'd be so excited to meet a world renowned make up artist but it's Bobbi Brown for cryin' out loud! Needless to say, I let out a teeny tiny 'squeeee' when I found out that I'd be able to attend the masterclass and see Bobbi in action.

Seeing as I didn't know I was going to get to see Bobbi, I wasn't able to take photos with my own camera. However, I was able to use the photos that the professional photographer took and give you all a sneaky peek at the divine Ms. Brown in her element!

Seeing Bobbi Brown in action probably made the Studio Manager's days, Christmas, birthdays and New Years!

Bobbi walked us all through the basics of applying foundation/concealer/powder using one of the lovely girls from the office...

One of her main tips was that if you're ever in doubt about a shade... Step back.
The worst thing a makeup artist or even us doing our own makeup is to keep slapping it on until it's right. Take your time. Take a step back. Ask for someone elses opinion. It'll only make you more confident when using colours :)

Mascara is probably one of the most important elements to getting made up as it frames the eyes. I know that I can't live without mascara and if I was only allowed to apply one thing on my face in the mornings... It would have to be that!

Again... Step back. Watching Bobbi step back over and over again only taught me that no matter how good you are at what you do, when you take a step back and look at the bigger picture you'll know what you need to fix.

Working away on her second model for the day using the Black Velvet collection. How amazed do all the managers look!?!?

Bobbi was amazing to watch working away. She was so calm and collected with what she was doing and was happy to take pointers from Paul Herrington (standing behind Bobbi) who is the director of artistry for Bobbi Brown UK.

If in doubt, try another moving around and catching natural light. I'm sure we've all been there and slapped on the blush/bronzer but as soon as we've stepped out in natural light, it looks horrendous. No? Ok, maybe it's just me then!
I know that there have been days when the lighting my room always makes me look one shade but as soon as you go near a window and in the natural light, you're a different colour.
Bobbi wasn't happy with the artificial lighting in the room, so she moved around until she was. It's important to know the effects of lighting when applying makeup because it can cast shadows across your face that might not actually be there.

Bobbi just taking it easy and talking to us about what's coming up next from her and the brand. It was great to see her at ease and chatting away with her team. They were able to ask her questions about the brand and products which she was happy to answer. An absolute legend!

Bobbi was even kind enough to record a short video message for her Facebook fans!

If you're not already a fan of Bobbi Brown UK on Facebook, then what are you waiting for!!!

So there you have it.. A sneaky look into a masterclass by the one and only Bobbi Brown. Woman. Mother. Wife. Makeup Artist. She's seriously amazing.

Until next time...
