Review: Urban Decay Tinted Moisturizer

Hi all.

I'm well underway with my blogging at the moment and I'm loving this whole scheduled posts thing that I've picked up. A lot of other bloggers already do this and now I see why! Sundays seem to have become my post preparing day so I can just log in and make a post live every day :)

Today's post is a review of the new Urban Decay Tinted Moisturiser which is being released over here in the UK next month, if I'm not wrong, and will be priced at £17. I was sent this product to review by a PR company and am not being paid for it.

Now, on to the review!

This is what the product looks like:

It comes in 4 shades and I was sent Forcefield which is the darkest shade:

So when I first swatched the product it was clear that it was 2 shades too dark for me:

This is just one pump of the product and quite a lot comes out so be careful when you use it!

Instead of letting the product just sit in my makeup unit and gather dust, I figured I'd test it out on a friend with the perfect skin tone and then get the feedback from her about what she thought and how it felt on her skin.

So this is what her skin looked like before...

and this is what it looked like after:

You can see from the photos that there is a definate sheen left on the face even though there isn't any actual shimmer in the product. I'm not sure what your preference is but I prefer my tinted moisturisers to soak in to my skin but provide an even finish to my skin. This product, however, leaves a sticky finish and that is definetly not my thing!

This is what my friend (Sappi) has to say about it:

I liked the way it felt going on my skin but I didn't like the sticky finish that it left. I could literally feel the product sitting on my skin and felt like if I touched it, it would definetly slide. I'm more used to wearing foundations than tinted moisturisers but I'd have expected this product to soak straight in and not need to be set with a powder.

I don't know if anybody else has had the same problem with this product but I'm a bit hesitant to use it on myself because of the strange finish it left on Sappi and I definetly don't want to have to set a tinted moisturiser with a powder!

Let me know if you've had a similar or different experience with this product in the comments box at the bottom.

Until next time...

6 stiletto lovers had something to say::

  1. I heard about this product and wanted to try it. I'm a big fan of tinted moisturisers for the summer.

I think I'll go for the lightest shade and see how I go.

I'll be interested to hear other opinions on this as well.

  2. When I was contacted aboutt his product I was really excited because I love tinted moisturisers but I was sent a shade too dark so don't know if it would have the same effect on my skin.

Let me know how you get on if you try it out.xx
