Review: FrontCover Cosmetics 'Miss Behaving Eye Kit'

Hi all.

Hope you're all doing well. It's been a busy week and have been meaning to post this review for the last couple of days but I finally got some time to myself so this was first on my list!

I was sent this makeup kit a few weeks ago and in that time I've played around with it and used each product so I could post a decent review for you lovely people.

This is what the kit looks like:

What's inside:

- One set of false eyelashes (with glue)
- Two baked eyeshadows - silver and gold
- Double ended brush
- Double ended black eye kohl and smudger
- Double ended black mascara and black liquid liner

and here's a closer look at the products...

Shadows:
I've never used FrontCover eyeshadows before but after doing a bit of research on other blogs, I read that they can be used wet. When I've tried to use eyeshadows wet in the past I've not had a good experience with them so tend to use them dry and with a good base or primer.
However, that was not the case with these two in the kit. You can see from the photos that there was a clear difference in their appearance and their texture.
I definitely wouldn't you them with no base as they just look flat and boring. On the other hand, I would use them with a good base or wet because the colours show up a lot more and are actually easier to blend that way.

Kohl Eyeliner:
I absolutely love this! It's soft and blends/smudges really easily. There are some kohl pencils floating around out there that have no pigmentation and are difficult to work with but this is not one of them. It's soft and works well on the lower water line, upper lash line or to smoke out a look if you don't want to use shadows.

Brush:
nifty little brush that you can use to pat the shadows on to your lid and then blend them out in to the crease. There's not much else to say about it to be honest but it works well with the products in the kit. A

Liner & Mascara Combo:

This has to be my least favourite product in the kit. I'm very picky when it comes to eyeliners and mascaras so I wasn't too sure about these two parts. As much as I like the idea (You know it would be handy to have to a combo like this rolling around in your handbag 'just in case'), I have to admit that this product was a let down.

Mascara:
I took this photo as soon as I had taken the brush out of the tube so you can see how gloopy the actual formula is. It was thick and sticky so definitely not something I want on my lashes. The brush is the better part of the mascara as it had a slight curve so it is more likely to coat all the lashes. It kind of stops there. I don't like the bristles because they aren't seperated so is more likely to clump and coat your lashes instead of seperating and lengthening them.

Eyeliner:

When I first took the brush out of the tube I was excited because I LOVE brush applicators instead of the felt tipped applicators. I feel like they're a lot easier to use and you can get a perfect 'cat eye' in one sweep. The actual formula of the eyeliner is a lot thinner than I had expected as you can see below....

There's very little pigmentation to the actual formula and it looks watered down in my opinion. I know it probably isn't but that's what it feels like to me and especially when I swatched it on my hand. I'm a bit wary of trying this on my eyes because it seems that it might be runny and bleed into the eyeshadow but I will still try it out and see how it goes.

False Lashes:
Aren't they pretty!?!
I took these out of the packaging today and they're great. They don't feel too heavy on and look fluttery and natural which is always a bonus. I personally think there's a time and a place for thick and 'porno' lashes (Sorry to those that love wearing those lashes, especially in the daytime, it's my personal opinion) and in the daytime isn't one of them. These ones are wearable and won't look out of place in the office or just prancing around at the shops.

So there you have it. I'm pretty sure I've covered all the bases of the products included in this kit. I really love the shadows so I do want to try out the rest of FrontCover Cosmetics palettes, perhaps the much hyped 'Rainbow Eyes' or 'Mermaid Palette'.
This palette will be available in Boots stores and Boots.Com from 19th May but is already available from www.bodycare2000.co.uk. It is priced at £15.
