Tutorial: Depotting Your Urban Decay Primer Potion

Hi all.

Haven't posted a tutorial type affair in a while so as I'm being a saddo and spending my Friday night at home, I thought I'd get one up for you lovely people. This one isn't a makeup tutorial, it's a spot of DIY... Depotting a container of Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion.
I've seen a couple of these tutorials on YouTube and other blogs so I wanted to give it a go!

Can I just start by saying:

1. My photography skills still suck balls.
2. I almost cut my finger so be careful.
3. It's a messy process so anyone who makes out that it's a clean cut method, is a liar. Haha.

Now, on to the fun stuff!

What you'll need:

A sharp serated knife, toothpicks or spatula to scoop the product out, disinfected and santized container and your UD Primer Potion.



Take the lid off the UDPP and whole it down. Cut right through the middle. Be careful of shards of plastic getting into the product!
This was a tiny one that I got with my AIW Book of Shadows but I found it impossible to get any product out with the applicator. Look how much was in there!!!

Scoop all that badboy out!

Then I cracked open the bigger bottle of PP which I got with my Urban Decay 'Hall of Fame' kit. I'm actually amazed at how much product was left in there!

I gave up using a toothpick and used the brush applicator instead.

Almost got it all out but wait....

...there's still more! Cut through the bottom section and you'll find a load of good stuff in there too.

Finally! All scooped out! Never in a million years would I have been able to get all the product out without cutting through the packaging.

The end result. Easy to use and a lot more practical that the blasted 'potion' bottle design!

I really think Urban Decay need to rethink that design of their packaging because atleast half of the product is left in there and probably ends up in bin.

There you have it folks! If you know of any other ways to depot Urban Decay's Primer Potion then drop it in the box at the bottom :)
