Request: Everyday Makeup

Hi all.

I have had quite a few twitter messages and emails about everyday makeup and what I do on a daily basis so I thought I'd finally get on it and do a quick post about my normal routine.
I don't use the same products every day but these are the ones that I tend to reach for most days and I might skip a few steps purely because:
1. I can't be bothered
2. I'm too lazy
3. I don't have enough time
So this is what my usual dillydally is:

1. ELF Studio kabuki brush

2. Crown Brush duo-fibre brush

2. Maybelline 'Falsies' mascara

4. MAC 'Smolder' eye kohl

5. Bare Minerals 'Medium Beige' foundation (This was a sample because I was curious)

6. Stila 'Topaz' Kajal

7. MAC 'Just A Pinch' gel blush

8. MAC Studio Finish concealer 'NW30'

9. MAC 'Style' powder blush

10. Crown Brush blush brush

11. Shu Uemura eyelash curlers

This is my muggins with no make up on. I know, not a pretty sight! (You can see my Twitter open in the background. I'm addicted!)

After I've concealed my dark circles under my eyes and set it all with the Bare Minerals mineral foundation. Being a complete foundation virgin, this foundation is quick and easy to use especially when I'm in a rush.

Adding lashings of mascara (Insert ridiculous photo here)

In the day time, I prefer doing a brighter liner in the inner half because it makes me look more awake. I found that if I do the same shade all along the waterline, it washed me out. So instead, I use the Stila 'Topaz' kajal on the inner half and then use MAC 'Smolder' along the outer half for definition.

Using the duo fibre brush, I stippled the gel blush on. I use my fingers when I'm in a rush but be careful because too much and you'll look like an overexcited granny! I tend to tap my brush into the product and dab off the excess on the back of my hand.

To add a touch of highlight, I use MAC 'Style' blush which is a frost. It adds the perfect amount of sheen for a glowy effect. I love using this blush on its own too because it gives a sunkissed glow which works for any season and day or night!

TAA-DAAA!! The finished look!! It doesn't look too cakey for the daytime (I can't stand the dry caked on look) and add a slick of black liner on the lid to work it in the evening too.
It looks fresh and not clean without looking naked.
I forgot to add a lip colour but I'd probably swipe on some Rose Vaseline because it has a hint of pink and the be on my merry way!!
So what do you all think? Do you think you could go 'naked' without looking it?
Let me know in the comments box and if you've done a similar sort of look then link me to the pics :)
Off to work now so I'll be back another day with some more dillydallying!
Take care my loves and remember to

4 stiletto lovers had something to say::

  1. I never thought to do half a Topaz line and half a black line on my waterline before, I'm going to try it out.

I've been using my Topaz every single day for quite a while now after realising how good it makes my eyes look, they look bigger and more awake.
