Photos & Mini Review: Models Own Nailpolishes (Part 1)

Hi all.

On Sunday I placed an order with Models Own (http://www.modelsownit.com) because they had a great deal on - 50% off all orders over £20! Sounded like a bloody great deal to me! Anyway, having already be the proud owner of their Nude Beige nailpolish (Its amazing!) I thought I'd buy a couple more and see if they lived up to the glory that is neutral. Ha ha.

And did they? Yes indeed (bar one negative point but I'll raise that at the end)

These are the shades I bought:

So, Utopia looks like this:

In the bottle it looked more creamy, grey with a hint of lilac but once its on its a lot more lilac-ish. To be honest, I hate purple and other relative of it. I know some of you are probably thinking I'm weird but its just not a colour that I feel suits me and I think its quite a blah shade. However, theres something surprisingly delightful about this shade which makes me think if I should give the rest of the family a chance... Hmmm... Food for thought perhaps??

On to the next shade: Fuzzy Peach

This colour somewhat surprised me too because on the site it looked peach but after 3 coats (Yes, I needed 3 coats) it turned into a deeper peach-orange shade. I'm not complaining thought because I love it nonetheless. However, the 3 coat minimum was the downside for me. Now, it could just be me and my need for perfection but I found that 2 coats wasn't enough. I don't like it when I can see the line of my nail peeping through the nailpolish so I had to add another coat on top.

Overall, I loved the polishes. I love the consistency. I love the coverage. I love the brush.

BUT (there's always a but)

the wicked whiff of formaldehyde and tosylamide still throws me off. Maybe its something to think about? I'm pretty sure all those chemicals aren't good which is the only downer.
