Delayed Diwali Greetings & Product Rave

Hey all.

Happy belated Diwali to all those who celebrate! :)

I've been so busy that I haven't quite had the chance to blog since Friday. I hope all of you had a relaxed weekend and didn't cause too much trouble over the last couple of days.


Saturday was a very busy day for myself because I was at work all day and came home to celebrate Diwali (the festival of light, for those who don't know). Needless to say but I had a fantastic day and thank you to all those who tweeted me diwali greetings.


I haven't done much shopping over the weekend because I was so busy but I plan to jump right back on it after I get paid on Friday. Don't you all just LOVE pay day!? I think its the best day of the week. Lol.


I rocked the Grain/Woodwinked/Antiqued look again on Saturday night. Didn't really have time to get made up after work so had to work quickly and I knew that this look was definetly a fail safe so just worked with what I had. Finished the look off with Mac's Nude Rose lipstick from the DSquared2 range. I am absolutely in love with it!


However, I came to the conclusion that although Nude Rose is a gorgeous colour, it is dupe-able.


Although I love all Mac lipsticks, I am not too keen on their price tags. To be honest, I don't think anyone is but like the budding fashionistas and makeup artists we all are, we insist on buying them because at the end of the day 'It Is Mac'.


Maybelline's new Colour Sensational lipstick range is amazing! After watching Lollipop26's swatches on YouTube (as we all do) I just had to go out and pick up AMBRE ROSE 112 and let me tell you... IT DOES NOT DISAPPOINT.

Mac's NUDE ROSE from the DSquared2 collection is on top and Maybelline's AMBRE ROSE is the bottom one. Not identical but very very similar and dupe-able for half the price. Always a good thing in my book! :)


It doesn't smell as nice as Mac lipsticks (Yes, I smell my lipsticks. Don't ask. Lol) but its just as gorgeous. Its just the right shade of pink to wear in the day and at night, although I do prefer to go a little bit darker at night.


Another shade out of the Maybelline collection is Fatale Red. It is a true red. Sultry, sexy and just the right amount of vamp. I think we can all agree that after the whole Twilight series, vamp is always a good thing... Especially if its going to attract sexy men like Robert Pattinson, Kellan Lutz, Taylor Lautner or even the daddy of all vamps Peter Facinelli *Grrrrr*.


So that's my quick update and product rave for the weekend.
I'm sure I'll find something to rave or rant about tomorrow. I always do.
